HE may not be as famous as Hulk Hogan but Celtic Wrestling's first heavyweight champion has all the right moves to make it the ring.
In front of more than 200 fans of the grappling game at Cathays Community Centre, Cardiff, 19-year-old Daniel Prosser from Mountain Ash took the title after defeating Merthyr's Caiman was defeated in the final.
Better known as Matt Vaughn in the ring, Prosser came out on top in the eight-man tournament after defeating Cardiff's Tyler Browne in the first round, Newport's Edd Ferris in the semi-final and his arch nemesis in the final.
"It is great to be the first-ever Celtic heavyweight champion," said Prosser, who works at the Michael Sobell Sports Centre as a relief support worker when he's not pinning his opponents to the canvas.
Prosser recently completed his training at the NWA Hammerlock Wrestling School in Kent and says it is a shame there are no wrestling facilities in the Cynon Valley.
"There's not really anywhere around here to start up - I think that's really sad," said Prosser. "Every kid watches it on the telly - I think there would be a huge demand for it if a wrestling school started up in the area."
